As I walked in, I heard it but I didn't see it. I grabbed what I needed and walked out. As I walked towards my car I saw the kitten, we made eye contact, and she came towards me. She had the most beautiful blue eyes, she was so small and vulnerable. I didn't understand how anyone could hurt this tiny animal. She let me grab her, I gave her some water I had, I put her down, I goggled places I could take her to. Of course it being Sunday nothing was opened. I walked towards my car and she followed me. I could just leave her. I grabbed her and put her in my car. I would figure something out for her. My intention was never to keep her. I had never been a cat person, I never thought I would own a cat. Never. But I wasn't going to leave this poor kitten there.
I walked in to the house, and everyone loved her. She was white with black on her tail , ears and feet. She was a Siamese cat . I didn't know, lol . Michael was sleeping, I walked in the room and he asked me what the commotion was . Well I said, I found a cat. He knew I wasn't into cats, he made a face, why did you bring it? Well because she was just there I didn't want anyone to hurt her, and she looks hungry and cold. He smiled, of course why am I not surprised. Well I said, you would of done the same. Yes he replied. He said let me see her.
I brought her in, she kept crying she was scratching me. This is why I don't like cats I thought, a dog would never do this.. haha. I gave her the kitten, he saw her and fell in love. Man, the look he gave her was pure look at her eyes he said, how beautiful I know I told him. She immediately stopped crying, and lied on his chest and fell asleep. Well I said , she likes you. I he was calm, he too fell asleep. Hmm interesting I thought. I let them be. I had brought food and water for her, she was dirty and I thought maybe she had flees or ticks.
I went to the store and bought a shampoo, yes shampoo. I didn't know better. I grabbed her and was walking towards the bathroom. What are you doing he asked, umm I'm going to give her a bath?.. he laughed, you don't give cats baths. Why I said? She is dirty, and you are sick , she needs to be clean. Ok he laughed go ahead and try. Like I said, im not a cat person, I always had dogs. LOL. Here I went to the bathroom I opened the sink faucet and let the water get warm, lord she heard the water and she clawed me. But she had met her match because I don't give up that easy.
Michael walked in, I'm just going sit here and watch he said. Well since you are here then you night as well help. Hold her and I will shampoo her. She kept scratching me, and crying. But she sure had ticks, I got them all out, well the ones I saw. I dried her up and gave her to Michael. She didn't want anything to do with me. She crawled under the sheets with Michael and laid on his chest and she was asleep. I told Michael we can't keep her, this is just temporary until I find her a home. I know he said. Well his brother had found her someone that would take her. They came in and told him, we are going to take her.
He looked at me, I knew. I want to keep her. I knew it, you were getting attached. She calms me down he said. When she lays on my chest she relaxes me. I feel at peace. I mean what could I say? Fine I told him. lol But I'm not cleaning the poop. He laughed , deal he said. I had named her blu, it stuck for a few days, then he saw her and he said her name is Sami.. Hmm Sami? I asked. Yea she is a Samantha, but I will call her Sami. Ok then , we had a cat.
She didn't sleep anywhere but on his chest. I would mover her to let him rest, and she would climb back up on him. When I held his hand at night or tried placing my hand on his chest she had nothing to do with me, she made sure I moved. She followed him everywhere, when he was at chemo she cried, I mean I was in awe. That's when I knew she had found me. Here I thought I found her and was helping her out. But turns out she was helping us. She gave Michael a peace that no one else could. She helped me in so many ways. She loved her so much, she made sure she was taken to the vet and was taken care of. Animals can see things that we don't want to see, or can't. I believe she saw what he needed and she gave him that.
| This is Sami, a few days after I found her. |
